What is the white powder on my air ionizer?

I have an Ionic Air Cleaner Turbo Pro, and it worked for about four months in order. Suddenly, it seems to the establishment of a white powder that accumulates inside the unit, and must be cleaned daily. Even after a thorough cleaning, the leaves and inside page of this white powder to be covered in a day or two. What is the powder? How can I prevent the accumulation of?
